John Durning

John began his Kenpo training in 1986 under Dennis Nackord and World Champion Kickboxer "Golden" Roy Kleckner.

John is a 7th degree Black Belt in American Kenpo Karate with over 34 years of training and teaching.

He also holds a 6th degree Black Belt in American Karate/Kickboxing under undefeated world heavyweight champion Joe Lewis.

Was a member of the Worldwide Kenpo Karate Association (WKKA) National Demo Team.

He has trained with Dennis Nackord, Frank Trejo, Huk Planas, and Joe Palonzo in American Kenpo, Professional boxing Trainer Marty Feldman. F.A.S.T. Defense and Model Mugging creator Bill Kipp.

In addition to karate, boxing, and kickboxing, John has also trained in Jiu jitsu, Tai Chi Chuan, Krav Maga, Philippino Arnis, Burmese Bando, and Russian Sambo.

John was nominated in 1998 for The Ed Parker Spirit of Kenpo Award. He has owned and operated Karate Schools on the Main Line since 1994.

John’s martial arts schools have been awarded Best of the Main Line three times by Main Line Life magazine.

He is a Certified FAST Defense Instructor and Armored Assailant, and has conducted over 300 FAST Defense Personal Safety courses for ages 5 to senior citizens over the past 18 years.

He has been featured on NBC10, Fox29, CN8 and conducted Seminars and Assemblies at many area Elementary Schools, Middle Schools, High Schools, and Colleges.
